I prefer to disable the program
narration.
As you begin, the program will initialize with text-to-speech. This accommodation
is provided for users with visual impairment. All videos are captioned
for individuals who may have hearing impairment.
Users who do NOT require narration
should simply click the 'USE NO NARRATION'
button, which appears on the initial program screen.
Clicking this button
turns off the computerized voice.
Or, click the ESCape key at anytime to
end the narration.

I'm a Vista user and the program is not working properly.
If you are using Windows Vista, the Authorware Web player may not
load properly.
You may receive an "Access is denied" error
message when installing the Adobe Authorware plug-in using Microsoft
Vista and Internet Explorer 7.
If the Authorware Web Player does not immediately
download when opening the PHT program modules, try this:
- Close all Internet Explorer browsers.
- Open one Internet Explorer browser.
- From an Internet Explorer menu (top of the screen) select Tools,
then Internet Options.
- Select the Security tab.
- Select Trusted Sites.
- Select the Sites button.
- Uncheck the Require server verification box. (if it is checked).
Copy the address/url in the browser ADDRESS window.
- Paste the copied URL in the Add this Web site to the zone box. Select
Add.
- Select OK.
- Select OK again.
- Close and reopen Internet Explorer (this may be optional).

I've clicked the case link and nothing has happened
for several minutes.
The program files are quite large and take a while to download. The VERY
FIRST access of a case may take as long as 1 - 3 minutes.
As long as your cursor is the hourglass, something is happening.
Please be patient.

I'm having audio problems.
If you are having sound difficulties check the following:
- Make sure the volume is turned up.
- Make sure the mute setting is not checked.
- Check that the speakers are plugged in and turned
on.
- See if you can play .wav and .mp3
files from the Media Player. If you cannot hear both types of sound,
you may need to check the configuration of your sound card.
Adjusting Audio
You can adjust your volume from an icon in your system tray. Or, go to
Control Panels and adjust sound there. From the control panel, select
the item related Sound/Audio adjustment.
Adjust the volume slider. Make sure Mute box is not checked.
Then select the audio tab. Click the Volume button.

Finally, adjust the Volume control sliders, especially the
Wave/MP3.

I'm having video problems.
If you are hearing sound from the movie clips but are not seeing any images
then the Authorware player may not have installed correctly. This may
happen when the installation takes place with restricted access rights.
Check to make sure that your computer does allow program installation
then download
the Authorware player again. You may need
to work with your IT department.
If you are still experiencing problems make sure that you are using the
most current drivers for your video card. Updating the video driver
may resolve
a variety of issues, even with program freezes. Contact your computer
manufacturer to download current drivers, or the hardware manufacturer
itself.
